He is an expert in the areas of value-based management, portfolio strategy, target setting, and incentive compensation. He has assisted clients in aligning their organizational structures with key strategic initiatives.
Mr. Furtaw has advised companies in the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia in a variety of industries including financial institutions, consumer products, manufacturing, food and beverages, electronics, distribution, and commodities.
Prior to joining SCCO International, Mr. Furtaw worked at Bank of America and its predecessor companies in the development and application of economic capital for use in portfolio management, risk-adjusted performance measurement, capital adequacy and incentive compensation.
After receiving his MBA from Columbia University, Mr. Furtaw joined Stern Stewart & Co., where he spent 8 years assisting client companies in the implementation of value-based management and performance measurement systems. Four of those years were spent establishing and managing the Tokyo office where he introduced the value-based management framework to leading Japanese multinationals and their subsidiaries throughout Asia, Europe and North America.
Mr. Furtaw is a member of the CFA Institute, the international association of financial and capital market experts.
